Thakafat is a Jordanian social tourism initiative founded to bridge cultures through authentic local experiences. What started as one family home hosting cultural dinners has grown into a network of over 38 family houses and numerous artisans across Jordan.
Our mission is to preserve Jordanian heritage while empowering local communities — especially women and youth — by creating part-time income opportunities through tourism. We believe tourism should not only be about visiting places, but about connecting with people.
Through culinary experiences, artistic collaborations, desert concepts like Clubbing in Mars, and partnerships with international creatives, Thakafat has positioned itself as a gateway between Jordanian culture and the world.
We operate across Petra, Wadi Rum, Salt, Madaba, Ajloun, and Aqaba, offering immersive experiences that combine tradition, creativity, and sustainability.
